School Trips

At Barnsbury, we recognise that school trips help to enhance our broad and balanced curriculum. The school trips and external field work that we select provide rich and memorable experiences for the pupils’, support the topics and learning in school, build pupils self-confidence and provide them with a sense of the wider world.

Our school trips provide further enrichment because of the different locations and settings children can begin to explore. They begin to make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and the wider world around them. Trips increase motivation and provide sense of purpose for learning and build life long memories. It is often the school trips which children remember most about their time at school.

Each year group plan two visits a year, one further afield and one close to our locality. In addition to this, each year group has the minimum of one visitor to support the learning in school (eg: a paramedic; The Mayor of Woking; SATRO (an independent company supporting schools). To see our full range of trips and visitors please see our Whole school curriculum topic planner.
